As Fall approaches, there's no rest for the staff at EWH! As we finish up a successful set of 2019 Summer Institutes, we're hard at work planning 3 Institutes beginning in December (in Guatemala, Cambodia and Uganda) and 8 -- count 'em -- 8 Summer Institutes. We'll be in Kenya for the first time, and in Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda,Guatemala, and Nepal. There will be two separate Institutes in the Dominican Republic. We're so glad for your participation and support as we grow.…

Happy 15th Birthday to EWH's Institute Programs!
As part of our effort to evaluate our Institute programs, Engineering World Health regularly surveys past participants on a variety of topics, including education, volunteer work, and professional experience. For our 15th Year Census, we received 126 responses. Institute Alumni from every year since the Institutes began in 2004 responded, with 40% of responses from Alumni before 2015, and 60% from 2015 to 2019.…

A THRIVING PARTNERSHIP: DTU AND EWH
For several years, Engineering World Health has partnered with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) to send student volunteers to Nepal. The program has grown and matured, and we’d like to share its interesting origins: In 2014, DTU student David Kovacs was a participant in the EWH Summer Institute in Tanzania. By this time, he’d already spent some time in Nepal, and was eager to put his skills to work in Tanzania. During the summer, David became convinced that EWH’s services were needed in Nepal. During the final conference, David pitched the idea to visiting EWH CEO, Leslie Calman. Together, they began putting together a program.…

We're hiring! EWH is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced candidate to fill the full time position of EWH Institute Manager. The EWH Institute Manager is responsible for 6-7 Institute programs. For 5-8 months a year, the Manager works closely with the EWH team in Chapel Hill, NC, coordinating and developing the programs. For the remainder of the year, they work in Asia, Africa, or Latin America serving as the OTGC for one Summer Institute and one January Institute.…
