Hello Friends,

We are just finishing up our January Institutes, which this year included programs in Guatemala, Nepal, and Cambodia. These programs create opportunities for students to apply their skills in low resource environments and make a direct, positive impact on hospitals where EWH students serve.

Thank you so much for your support, which allows us to provide these incredible opportunities for young engineers!

Looking ahead, we can't wait for the 2016 US Science & Engineering Festival!

US Science & Engineering Festival

Want to see all the newest, coolest stuff happening in STEM? The 4th US Science & Engineering Festival will host over 1,000 STEM organizations April 16-17, 2016, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Exhibitors will present hands-on science and engineering activities for people of all ages. The event is free of charge.

EWH will be in booth 712 this year: come find us! If you'd like to volunteer with us, send us an email: [email protected].

Summer Institute: UNSW in Cambodia

This year, for the first time, EWH partnered with the University of New South Wales in Australia to send 17 students to Cambodia. There, they trained alongside EWH's BMET Training students before splitting up to work in local hospitals. In addition to the positive impact their work had in hospitals, students gained a deeper understanding of Cambodian culture and history through living with homestay families and studying Khmer. After 8 weeks, this program is coming to a successful close. You can see some of their work on the group's Instagram.

We Have Kits!

EWH offerstwo biomedical instrumentation Kits designed to provide hands-on training, understanding of important biomedical engineering concepts, and practical electronic fabrication skills needed by both engineers and technicians.

Our Optical Heart Rate Monitor and the ECG Simulator Kits are both excellent tools for teaching circuitry, soldering, and instrumentation.
