High School Design Competition
High School Virtual Design Competition 2022
Finding Solutions to Global Health Problems | February - August 2022
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EWH will host its inaugural high school design competition virtually in 2022!
EWH will seek individual (or group) student submissions for an independent study that focuses on finding solutions to global health problems.
This design competition will focus on low-resource design and engineering for healthcare in an international setting. Students will participate in a one-hour brief and receive briefing materials on the project and process – any resources, background information that would assist students to design their solution via a Google classroom portal. They will submit an idea outlining a different health problem in developing countries and work with EWH staff to select and develop a project. Over the course of the program, students will have opportunities to hear from experts in the field via online webinars. At the end of the program, students will submit a 3-to-5-minute video presentation outlining their solution to a global health challenge, as individuals or as a group. Only one prize per group.
