Thank you all once again for your support during our annual appeal! And thanks also to those of you who helped spread the word about our Summer Institute programs during application season! You help Engineering World Health fulfill its mission.
Want a sneak peek for SI 2018? Meet our Summer On-the-Ground Coordinators, including the ones overseeing our new six week program in Mongolia and three week program in the Dominican Republic! Our Coordinators are critical for the daily, in-country management of our Institute programs!

The January Institutes
As of last Friday, all of our January Institute programs have concluded! In Guatemala, 12 participants from RIT & GMU worked in 3 hospitals for 3 weeks. In partnership with the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney, 34 students joined us in Cambodia this year, working in 14 different hospitals all across the country. This is our biggest group yet!
In Uganda, 14 Australian students partnered with 7 students from Makerere University, enabling teams to reach rural hospitals in great need of medical equipment assistance. In one hospital satisfaction survey, the hospital administrator reported the EWH team was "very wonderful" and "restored power to the operating theater" by fixing the wiring. Before the team arrived, the administrator said, "There was one oxygen concentrator for the whole hospital. Now there is at least one for each ward."
EWH will be at the epic USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, DC on April 6-8! The festival features thousands of exhibits from science and engineering societies, startups, universities, tech companies, government agencies, and STEM organizations. Join us for a whirlwind weekend of science, engineering, and fun: our booth number is #810 and we'd love to see you there!
