Opportunities for Engineers

Experienced professionals can help in multiple ways, in the US and other developed countries as well as in the developing world

  • Provide mentorship to chapters, oversee equipment repair sessions, or advise students working on senior design projects
  • Make short-term visits to our focus hospitals and clinics, to support capacity development, including training for equipment management, maintenance and repair
  • Help EWH respond to requests from other organizations that need engineers to accompany volunteer medical personnel in developing country hospitals or that have ‘adopted’ hospitals and now need engineering help to repair donated medical equipment
  • Join or advise a team participating in the EWH Design Competition. This calls for multidisciplinary Innovation Teams that bring student engineers together with faculty, professionals from the medical technology industry, social entrepreneurs, and so-on
  • Take on one of the Projects that Matter design challenges as an individual or with fellow professional engineers. In the past, professional engineers have been able to take working prototypes developed by students and develop them into technologies ready for manufacture and distribution

What kind of engineers are we looking for?

All professional engineers are welcome. We are especially interested in talking to you if you are a biomedical, mechanical or electrical engineer, or industrial designer who is:
