Financial aid and other applicants are encouraged to consider multiple approaches to fundraising, including applying for grants from social, academic, service, and/or religious organizations. Applicants are also encouraged to involve family members who can contribute and /or to personally finance the tuition fees. Please note that any money raised for tuition is not tax deductible.
Grant Resources:
The Summer Grants Program will provide U.S. bioengineers and biomedical engineers funding to pursue a summer (8 weeks) of high-quality research, internship in an industry setting or coursework relevant to their field of focus in biomedical engineering (BME), in an international setting. If you are applying for these programs please contact us so we can provide you with a letter of support.
Designed to support foreign language training and other academic studies abroad, this grant provides supplemental funds for American students who are already studying abroad under the auspices of an official study abroad program conducted by an accredited academic institution. The foundation is particularly interested in funding the study of strategically significant countries and languages. Grant recipients are expected to share this experience with others upon his or her return, ideally, with multiple audiences and varied media.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Fifty $1,000 grants are awarded each year. Open to all applicants with a Phi Kappa Phi chapter at their school; membership in Phi Kappa Phi is not mandatory. - Other Study Abroad Funding
At many universities it is possible to receive course credit for participating in the summer institute. You will need to consult your schools administrative procedures on receiving course credit for such a program. We can provide a syllabus and final exam if they are required. Doing this may make the program eligible for study abroad funding from a number of sources. Your university's study abroad office may have more information.

Contact former high school for alumni scholarships.
Research scholarships provided by religious organizations.
Check with community organizations such as Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Shriners, Elk, or Junior League.
This program sponsors several types of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students as well as for qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies. While abroad, scholars serve as goodwill ambassadors to the host country and give presentations about their homelands to Rotary clubs. Interested applicants must enquire through their local rotary club for specific information. Click on Club Locator to find your local chapter.
- Sign up for a Sporting Event
Ask friends and families to donate a certain dollar amount per mile, points under par, etc... Follow this link for a listing of sporting events around the country.
- Social Media:
Share your acceptance to the program with friends and family on Facebook. What if every Facebook friend donated $5? Every little bit helps!
- Work for Donations:
Tutor for donations.
Babysit for donations.
Bake sales (solicit friends & family to donate baked goods).
- Partner With Local Businesses for Donations
Restaurants may be willing to donate a percentage of proceeds for a night.
Local businesses may be willing to donate items for a raffle to support you.
- E-mail/letter Campaign:
Contact current/former employers, family and friends using provided solicitation letter.
